Nintendo sweeps Japanese sales charts
According to the latest Media Create charts, Nintendo platforms completely dominated the market last week in Japan, with all of the top ten games being Wii or DS releases. It may not have been the busiest week in terms of sales -- the best-selling game was the newly-released Taiko no Tatsujin Wii at 106,000 copies -- but that's still a pretty wacky achievement. Taiko no Tatsujin Wii (Namco Bandai, Wii): 106,000 Animal Crossing: City Folk (Nintendo, Wii): 98,000 Kirby Super Star Deluxe (Nintendo, DS): 94,000 Wagamama Fashion: Girls Mode (Nintendo, DS): 63,000 Penguin no Mondai: Saikyou Penguin Densetsu! (Konami, DS): 59,000 Professor Layton and the Final Time Travel (Level-5, DS): 58,000 Pokemon Platinum (Nintendo/The Pokemon Company, DS): 58,000 Rhythm Tengoku Gold (Nintendo, DS): 45,000 Wii Fit (Nintendo, Wii): 43,000 Mario Kart Wii (Nintendo, Wii) 34,000
